Located in the municipal area of Mercadal, Subaida is a 350-hectare farming estate owned by the Montañés family since 1843. This family founded the well-know brand of cheese portions and other cheese products, El Caserío. The estate has its own cattle, which is used in part for the production of Mahón-Menorca cheese. With 50 hectares of irrigated land, 100 hectares of dry farming and 200 hectares of woods, this estate produce all its own food for the cattle.
